This Privacy Policy explains how LUMI AI PTE. LTD., a Singapore company, collects, uses, and protects information when you use Lumi’s website, mobile apps, AI learning assistant, voice features, canvas, image upload, exams, curated curriculums, learning analytics, leaderboard, and related learning products.

1. Overview

Lumi is an AI learning platform. To provide tutoring, feedback, curriculum guidance, exams, and learning improvement, Lumi processes the learning content and activity you submit while using the service.

Lumi may use this information to provide the service, personalize learning, improve tutoring quality, improve pedagogy, improve AI systems, detect problems, and develop better learning products.

Lumi does not sell your personal information.

2. Information we collect

We may collect the following types of information.

Account information

This may include your email, login information, display name, account ID, and subscription level.

Learning content

This may include chat messages, voice input, audio, transcripts, uploaded images, written canvas work, answers, submissions, and other content you provide while learning.

Learning activity

This may include questions attempted, answers, scores, time spent, mistakes, corrections, progress, exam performance, curriculum progress, leaderboard activity, and feature interactions.

Approximate location

We may use approximate location, such as country or region, to support features such as national or regional dashboards, leaderboard grouping, analytics, safety, and service improvement.

Payment and subscription information

If you purchase a paid plan, payment details are processed by third-party payment processors. Lumi may receive limited information such as plan type, subscription status, payment status, and transaction records. Lumi does not directly store full payment card details.

Support and feedback

This may include information you send to Lumi through email, Discord, or other support and feedback channels.

Lumi uses automated systems to process learning content and activity.

Authorized Lumi team members and service providers may also review learning content and activity where needed to operate, support, protect, debug, evaluate, or improve Lumi.

This review may include chat messages, voice content, transcripts, uploaded images, written canvas work, answers, exam performance, curriculum progress, and related learning context.

5. AI improvement and privacy controls

Lumi may use learning content and activity to train, fine-tune, evaluate, and improve Lumi’s AI systems.

Some plans may include additional privacy controls, such as the ability to opt out of certain AI training uses in account settings.

Even if an opt-out setting is available and enabled, Lumi may still process information where needed to provide the service, personalize the user experience, maintain safety, prevent abuse, debug issues, comply with law, and operate Lumi.

6. Leaderboards and dashboards

Lumi may use approximate location, such as country or region, to create national or regional leaderboards, dashboards, and learning statistics.

Leaderboard display may use generated usernames instead of real names or email addresses.

Do not include personal information in your display name or generated username if username editing is available.

We may share information with service providers that help us operate Lumi, such as cloud hosting, AI infrastructure, analytics, diagnostics, security, payment processing, and customer support tools.

These providers may process information only for Lumi’s business purposes and according to our instructions, agreements, or their applicable service terms.

Lumi does not currently use advertising networks or sell personal information for advertising.

If this changes, we will update this Privacy Policy and, where required, request consent or provide additional controls.

Lumi is based in Singapore. Your information may be processed in Singapore and in other countries where Lumi or its service providers operate.

We take reasonable steps to protect information when it is processed internationally.

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information.

No online service is completely secure. You should avoid submitting unnecessary sensitive information to Lumi, such as government identification numbers, payment card numbers, passwords, medical records, or private information about other people.

We keep information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide Lumi, improve the service, maintain safety, comply with law, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, and maintain business records.

We may retain anonymized, aggregated, or de-identified information that no longer identifies you.

12. Account deletion and data requests

You may request account deletion from the Customer Profile section in the Lumi app or website.

You may also contact us to request access, correction, or deletion of your personal information.

After an account deletion request, we will delete or de-identify personal information unless we need to keep limited information for legal, security, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, product integrity, or legitimate business reasons.

13. Age guidance

Lumi is designed mainly for students in Grade 9 and above, as well as older learners.

Lumi is not recommended for younger users unless they use it with parent or guardian guidance and supervision.

14. Changes to this Privacy Policy

Lumi is a fast-moving product. We may update this Privacy Policy as our services, features, or legal requirements change.

If we make material changes, we will provide notice through the app, website, email, or another reasonable method.

16. Website analytics choices

We use PostHog to understand aggregate website usage, measure acquisition and landing-page engagement, and improve Lumi. We do not send chat messages, voice transcripts, uploaded materials, exam answers, email addresses, or verification tokens to PostHog.

Outside the United States, Lumi uses PostHog’s cookieless measurement by default. It does not use browser storage, person profiles, session replay, or cross-day identification. In the United States, Lumi uses standard analytics storage; use the Privacy choices link in the footer to switch to privacy-preserving analytics. Changes take effect after the page reloads.
